HEALTHY HAIR - FOODS

“Your hair grows about ¼ to ½ inch every month, and the foundation of all our new hair, skin, and nail growth is the nutrients we eat”. “If you eat healthy diet, you will grow stronger and healthier cell throughout your entire body – inside and out as well.
If you were born with fine hair, you’ll never have rope-thick tresses – no matter what you eat – but a well-balanced supplements often marketed to thicken hair or make it grow faster. They may backfire.
Even though you can find beauty supplements on the shelves of most stores, try to get the nutrients you need from foods whenever possible.  In rare instances, excess supplementation of certain nutrients such as vitamin-A, has been linked to hair loss.

HEALTHY HAIR FOODS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1.SALMON:
Salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. This high-quality protein is also filled with vitamin B-12 and iron.
Essential omega-3 fatty acids are needed to support scalp health. A deficiency can result in a dry scalp and thus hair, giving it a dull look.
Vegetarian:- Include one or two tablespoons of ground flaxseed in your daily diet for some plant-based omega-3 fats.

2.BEANS:
Are Beans  good for your hair??????
Yes, it’s true. Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide plentiful protein to promote hair growth, but ample iron, zinc, and biotin. While rare, biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.
Recommended:- 3 or more cups of lentils or beans each week.

3.NUTS:
Do you go nuts for thick and shiny hair????You should.
Brazil nuts are one of the nature’s best sources of selenium, an important mineral for the health of your scalp.
Walnuts contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help condition your hair. They are also a terrific source of zinc, as are cashews, pecans, and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure nuts are a regular on your healthy hair menu.

4.POULTRY:
Chickens and turkeys may have feathers, but the high-quality protein they provide will help give you the healthy hair you crave.
Without adequate protein or with low-quality protein, one can experience weak brittle hair, while a profound protein deficiency can result in loss of hair colour.
Poultry also provides iron with a high degree of bioavailability, meaning you body can easily reap its benefits.

5.EGGS:
When it comes to healthy hair, it does’nt matter whether you like your eggs scrambled, fried, or ever easy. However they’re served up, eggs are one of the best protein sources you can find.

They also contain biotin and vitamin B-12, which are important beauty nutrients.

HAIR TIPS - HOW TO GET SILKY & HEALTHY HAIR

My hair is one of the things I like most about my self. But honestly, I think any type of hair can look amazing if it is being taken care of properly. So I decided to make this post in order to share the things that I find useful for having smooth, silky, soft and healthy-looking hair. Here are some tips and tricks that I have learned so far:

1. Detangle your hair before shower: It's really important to do this before showering, because after your hair is wet it is way more prone to breaking.

2. Wet your hair completely before applying any shampoo or conditioner, because it helps a lot with distributing the shampoo and the conditioner evenly in your hair, so your hair will be cleaner.

3. The right way to wash your hair is to apply the shampoo at the top and mid part of your hair, and the conditioner only from the middle down to the ends. Now this is a good advice because the top part of your hair is always a lot more moisturized than the ends. The natural oils that your scalp produce do not reach the ends, which is why they are dryer and need more moisture. And applying conditioner to the roots is never a good idea because it will only make your hair more oily.

4. The products to use are different from one person to another. Also, to decide whether a shampoo is right for you, it should be used for a few months in order to actually see a difference. So the only way to find out which one is right for you is to go and try them out!
Another advice I have received is to try sulfate-free shampoos. Now, my shampoo is not sulfate free and I still love it, so it actually depends on each person.

5. Clear your hair completely: What I mean by this is to wash all the shampoo out of your hair. Otherwise your hair will be less shiny and you can even get dandruff.

6. Using hot tools: It's ok to use them, but always use a heat protectant. It will also help the hair keep it's shape, even if you straighten it or curl it.

7. Blowdrying your hair: For a few months I have tried not to blowdry my hair. At all! And I have decided to do this because I already use hot tools (like a straightener or curling iron), and I don't need more heat in my hair. So what I do is I wash my hair at night and let it dry naturally, so that in the morning I just need to style it and it's done. I am actually feeling a big difference as I have more silky and soft hair then before, so definitely try it out.

8. Teasing/ backcombing: I like to sometimes backcomb my hair to give it some volume and shape. It is not extremely damaging to the hair if you then brush your hair slowly starting from the ends to the top.

9. Trim you hair: Even if you are trying to grow it out, trim them regularly to get rid of split ends and make your hair look healthier. Split ends can't be repaired by any shampoo or conditioner, cause no product can glue them back together. What these products do is prevent them from splitting, so a trim from time to time is necessary.

Hope this was helpful to you!

Hinders Intellectual Development:

If a child skips breakfast, will be fatigued, unable to concentrate and lack cognitive stimulation.

Weight Gain:

If you skip breakfast, you are likely to overeat at other meals or snack to keep energy levels up and hunger pains down. A daily pass on breakfast can sabotage your diet and create conditions that lead to weight gain.

Metabolism Booster:

  • Eat breakfast and you will experience more energy all day and be in a better mood.
  • Latest study says breakfast boosts metabolism, reduces fatigue and promotes better concentration and performance.
  • Eating breakfast provides the enzymes that burn more fat by kick-starting your metabolism early in the day.

TRICHOTILLOMANIA

There’s a disorder that actually makes you pull your hairout and sometimes even eat it!

Trichotillomania, or TTM, is a disorder that causes a person to feel the strong urge to pull their hair out; scalp hair, eyelashes, pubic hair, and facial hair. TTM is very closely associated with obsessive convulsive
disorder.
Like OCD, TTM is a compulsive disorder that in some way brings comfort to the person who has it by
pulling out their hair. Some people with TTM even eat the hair after they pull it out. A person who eats the
hair afterwards is said to have “Rapunzel Syndrome”. The body is unable to digest the hair, though, and tends to
back up in the person’s system. It then causes intestinal problems. Some babies suffer from TTM, but the peak ages are between 9 and 13. It can be triggered by depression or stress. It causes the afflicted noticeable hair loss, distress, and social or functional impairment.

The disorder is hard to treat.

TIPS TO SLEEP PEACEFULLY

YOUR PERSONAL HABITS:

  1. Fix a bedtime and an awakening time. Do not be one of those people who allows bedtime and awakening time to drift. The body "gets used" to falling asleep at a certain time, but only if this is relatively fixed. Even if you are retired or not working, this is an essential component of good sleeping habits.
  2. Avoid napping during the day. If you nap throughout the day, it is no wonder that you will not be able to sleep at night. The late afternoon for most people is a "sleepy time". Many people will take a nap at that time. This is generally not a bad thing to do, provided you limit the nap to 30-45 minutes and can sleep well at night.
  3. Avoid alcohol 4-6hrs before bedtime. Many people believe that alcohol helps them sleep. While alcohol has an immediate sleep - including affect, a few hours later as the alcohol levels in your blood start to fall, there is a stimulant or wake-up effect.
  4. Avoid caffeine 4-6hrs before bedtime. This includes caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea and many sodas, as well as chocolate, so be careful.
  5. Avoid heavy, spicy or sugary foods 4-6hrs before bedtime. These can affect your ability to stay asleep.
  6. Exercise regularly, but not right before bed. Regular exercise, particularly in the afternoon, can help deepen sleep. Strenuous exercise within the 2hrs before bedtime, your sleeping Environment.
  7. Use comfortable bedding. Uncomfortable bedding can prevent good sleep. Evaluate whether or not this is a source of your problem, and make appropriate changes.
  8. Find a comfortable temperature setting for sleeping and keep the room well ventilated. If your bedroom is too cold or too hot, it can keep you awake. A cool (not cold) bedroom is often the most conducive to sleep.
  9. Block our all distracting noise and eliminate as much light as possible.
  10. Reserve the bed for sleep and sex. Don't use the bed as an office, workroom or recreation room. Let your body "know" that the bed is associated with sleeping.

HOME REMEDIES TO GET RID OF DANDRUFF

There are 3 ways by which you can get rid of dandruff. By following any one of these ways, you can be free of dandruff.

       ALOE VERA GEL:
Aloe vera gel is a soothing, healing gel that aids in dry skin peeling. Know for keeping in skin's natural moisture, aloe vera gel is also a great cure for sunburns. You can purchase aloe vera gel at your local drugstore, or you can purchase an aloe plant and remove the pure gel from the leaves yourself. Apply a silver dollar-size amount of aloe vera gel to your scalp about 10 minutes before getting into the shower. Leave the gel in for about 10 minutes, then rinse out in the shower before shampooing. The gel will moisturize your scalp, making it less dry after shampooing. For severe cases of dandruff, leave the aloe vera gel on overnight before showering in the morning.
       OLIVE OIL:
Olive oil is a natural moisturizer that seeps deep into the scalp to condition it. You can purchase olive oil at your local grocery store. It doesn't matter which kind of olive oil you use, so pick the most inexpensive bottle. Saturate your hair and scalp completely in olive oil and wrap your head in saran wrap. Then, place a shower cap over your head and leave the treatment on overnight. In the morning, unwrap your head and wash your hair thoroughly with anti-dandruff shampoo and warm water. You don't need to condition your hair after using olive oil. Repeat as often as necessary to maintain a flake-free scalp.
      ASPIRIN TABLETS:
Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory medication that helps to calm the itchiness and redness associated with dandruff. Crush up two aspirin tablets and place them into your shampoo bottle. Shake the shampoo well before using it. Then, use the shampoo as you normally would, and condition afterwards. If you experience no relief, add more crushed-up aspirin to the shampoo.

NATURAL TREATMENT FOR GREY HAIR

Hair color is the result of pigmentation to the chemicals eumelanin and phaeomelanin. In general, the more melanin present, the darker the hair color; the less melanin, the lighter the hair color. Considerable differences in color and texture exist between individuals of similar ethnicity, and immigration and global travel have greatly increased the diversity of hair characteristics among many countries. A person's hair color may also change over time and may be more than one color at a time.
Gray hair color typically occurs naturally as people age, usually turning their hair to gray and then white. In some cases, gray hair may instead be caused by a deficiency of B12 or a Thyroid imbalance.
More than 40% of Americans have some gray hair by age 40, but white hairs can appear as early as childhood. The age at which graying begins seems to be almost entirely based on genetics. Sometimes people are born with gray hair because they inherit the trait genetically.

SOLUTION:
Amla is also known as the 'Indian Gooseberry' (Emblica offinalis) and has been used in India for hair for hundreds of years. It has a very high content of Vitamin C. I would say that it's more of a preventative measure than a cure for gray and falling hair.
Lemon and Coconut oil: If you wish to use these, you could definitely mix the Amla powder (available at Tesco supermarket in the UK as well as many Asian/Indian grocery stores), into the oil mixture. Some of it will dissolve and there will be a grainy residue.
  • A lot of vegetable oils are very good for both the skin and hair. They are saturated with vitamins and nutrients. You can mix them together too and also use the purest essential oils. I find the following oils very good for the hair : Olive, Shea Butte, Mustard seed, Coconut, Jojoba, Sweet Almond Oil and Thistle Oil.
  • Essential oils that you can mix into the blend of oils, include Ginger, Rosemary, Lavender, Cedarwood, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang. Only ever use the most purest essential oils.
  • If you add 5% of Vitamin E oil to the blend, it will help keep it from going rancid for longer. Store the oil away in a cool place away from sunlight.
  • You can mix amla powder into the oil when you dispense a little to use it.
  • Use the oil as an overnight conditioner by massaging well into the scalp and hair. Wash it out in the morning. If you can't do this then massage it into the scalp and hair and leave it in for as long as you can even if it's only 15 minutes before a shower.
When it comes to washing out the oil:
  • Massage shampoo into your hair first and add a tiny bit of water. If you wet hair first, it will be difficult to get the oil out.
A recipe for intensive oil treatment:
  • 24.5 ml Thistle oil, 24.5 ml Olive oil, 3 ml Vitamin E oil, 0.5 ml Vitamin A Palmitate, 50 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, 30 drops of Grapefruit Essential oil and 20 drops of Ylang Ylang.
  • Or you can replace the above essential oils in the recipe by using the following instead:
  • 15 drops of Ginger Essential oil, 60 drops of Lavender Essential oil and 15 drops of Cedarwood Essential oil. Although the oils will improve the condition of your hair and stimulate the hair follicles and your scalp, there is no guarantee that they will make new hair grow or get rid of gray hair. It may however help prevent an early onset of hair loss.

HOPE THIS HELPS..
